In 1866 gold was discovered near South Pass City and prospecting began on what would become the Carissa Mine. A lot of gold was found during its operation. The Carissa Gold Mine drove the economy of South Pass City for more than 80 years, eventually closing in 1954. In 2003, restoration began on the Carissa and today tours are available. We've added gold nuggets to our Carissa soap. Well, not really gold nuggets. More like Calendula petals, but we like to pretend it's gold.
Carissa contains goat's milk and scented with Ginger and Lime Essential Oils.
Our bar soaps are packaged in a brown kraft box.
